Favorite Finds This Week: Fresh lettuce wraps with hummus and veggies.

Welcome to My Friday Faves!

Hi friends! Happy Friday! What’s happening this weekend? Exciting things await as we dive into the weekly recap of my favorites that’ve brightened the past seven days. We have an upcoming NCL event, I’m gearing up to teach barre, and of course, we’re looking forward to a Mexican dinner with the family. The usual fun, with an extra twist this week as the Pilot and I are wrapping up our 14-day detox journey. I’ll admit, I was ready to throw in the towel by the seventh day, but his encouragement kept me going, and now he’s feeling amazing!

Planning Our NYC Adventure

On top of all that, we have a trip planned to NYC that I simply can’t wait for! If you have recommendations or reservations we should consider making in advance, your insights would be greatly welcomed! The last time I visited was solo with Liv, and the Pilot is eager to explore the vibrant cityscape himself after hearing my stories from years past.

Fashion Finds: Things I'm Loving

As part of my Friday tradition, I wanted to share not just my plans but also some favorite finds from the week:

  • This denim dress from Thakoon has been on repeat – I borrowed it from RTR and may just have to make it mine!
  • I’m loving these shoes and this tee which pair perfectly with skirts.
  • Who else is excited about the return of leopard prints? This is definitely a vibe I’m here for!
  • Fall is in the air, and that means I’m jumping into cozy sweaters, stylish boots, and vibrant fall colors.

In addition to these fashion pieces, I’ve been eyeing a tiered mini dress, a silky maxi, and a lovely cardigan that I just can’t get enough of!

Engaging Reads and Shows

Switching gears, I want to discuss what I’ve been reading and watching. Anyone else tuning into Dancing with the Stars? It’s such a treat to watch the performances with the girls. We’re all cheering for Robert Irwin, who’s absolutely crushed it this season! Update Finding Joy in Everyday Moments The hustle and bustle of parenting often makes it easy to overlook small joys. Yet, as this week's Five on Friday piece highlights, there are plenty of moments that can bring comfort and happiness. For Brittany Dixon, it’s about savoring the interconnectedness of her daily experiences: long drives filled with audiobooks, family gatherings around fall activities, and the simple joy of discovering essential items that improve her life. Top Picks for Fall Fun As families prepare for the cozy season ahead, Brittany shares her insightful top finds—both practical and enjoyable. The jewelry cleaner, which not only makes rings shine but reveals how much they were once neglected, symbolizes the beauty of caring for what we love. Moreover, artificial mums allow for fall color without the maintenance burden, reflecting a dreamy balance that many parents strive for in their busy lives. With the right tools like an effective can opener and compact ice packs, even simple meal prep becomes an easier task. Creating a Cozy Atmosphere  No autumn is complete without cozy films to evoke nostalgia. The selection offered by Brittany, from classics like You’ve Got Mail to the enchanting world of Harry Potter, highlights how connecting with beloved films can create warmth at home, particularly for families juggling homework and meals. Those sounds in the background provide filler for moments, much like how parents often find solace amidst chaos—there's so much warmth in the unintentional backdrop of life. Health Awareness in Daily Choices When Brittany opened up about her breast ultrasound and the striking rise in younger women facing breast cancer, it served as a critical reminder of the importance of being mindful about the chemicals we use every day. Alternative products like baking soda-free deodorants represent proactive choices that resonate with many health-conscious individuals looking to reduce their toxic exposure. By making small changes in our daily routines, we can contribute not only to our well-being but also foster healthier family dynamics. Encouraging Conversations Around Parenting This week’s article reminds us of the importance of sharing experiences and knowledge as parents. Engaging conversations—whether they’re about home life, health concerns, or simply what brings us joy—play a significant role in fostering community and support. Brittany's transparency about personal health and its emotional impact encourages other parents to engage and address similar topics around family health and wellness. Normalize the Cozy As families navigate fall, embracing the cozy aspects of life becomes pivotal. Let’s face it: parenting involves learning to make the most out of day-to-day chaos. Unlock Your Potential: Transform Your Life with Shelly Lefkoe's Insights

Update Breaking Free from Self-Sabotage: Understanding Your Beliefs In a world that's constantly demanding more from us, how often do we find ourselves sabotaging our own efforts? Shelly Lefkoe, a renowned expert in personal transformation, reveals that understanding the difference between beliefs and patterns plays a crucial role in this dilemma. Our beliefs—those deep-seated convictions we hold about ourselves and the world—shape our actions. Often, limiting beliefs fuel behaviors such as procrastination and emotional eating, creating a cycle of self-sabotage that many of us struggle to escape. Lefkoe emphasizes that recognizing these beliefs is the first step towards creating lasting change. Identifying Common Limiting Beliefs One of the enlightening discussions in Lefkoe's recent conversation revolves around the most common limiting beliefs shared among individuals. She identifies five pervasive beliefs that many carry: I am not good enough. I don’t deserve happiness. I always fail. I am not deserving of health. I must please others before myself. These beliefs often go unchallenged and can significantly impact our health and relationships. By bringing them to the forefront, we can start to dissolve their power over us, gaining the freedom to cultivate a healthier lifestyle. Why Affirmations Alone Don’t Work One critical point Lefkoe makes is that typical affirmations often fall flat unless rooted in tangible belief. She argues that merely stating positive affirmations without addressing underlying beliefs will not lead to meaningful change. Instead, Lefkoe advocates for practices that directly address and alter those beliefs, turning the affirmation into a genuine reflection of self. This shift leads not just to better self-talk but to concrete changes in behavior that also support emotional health. A Simple Practice for Releasing Negative Emotions In her approach, Lefkoe introduces a straightforward practice to help mitigate negative emotions that weigh us down. This involves acknowledging the emotions, allowing oneself to feel them without judgment, and then gradually shifting focus to more positive thoughts. This practice can be harnessed at any moment—making it an accessible tool in our daily lives. This mindfulness technique encourages a healthier engagement with our feelings, which is crucial for emotional well-being. Nurturing Positive Beliefs in Children Addressing the roots of self-belief, Lefkoe’s vision extends to nurturing children to develop empowering beliefs from a young age. She underscores the significance of conscious parenting, wherein caregivers can instill values and beliefs that encourage confidence and resilience. This new generation, equipped with healthy beliefs, holds the potential to combat self-sabotage before it even takes root, ultimately contributing to a more respectful and peaceful society. Creating Lasting Health Changes To truly transform our lives, it’s not just about addressing limiting beliefs; it’s also about establishing sustainable lifestyle changes. Integrating health practices that resonate with us, such as balanced nutrition and enjoyable fitness routines, plays a vital role here. This aspect of Lefkoe’s message is refreshing—it emphasizes that health does not need to be a chore, but rather a joyful endeavor that fits our individual lifestyles. Conclusion: The Power of Transformation Shelly Lefkoe’s insights provide a robust framework for anyone looking to break free from negative patterns and cultivate a life of intention and joy. By understanding the origins of our beliefs and actively working to revise them, we can achieve a level of wellness that impacts every facet of our lives. For those looking to embark on this journey, the time to start is now. By taking small, proactive steps today, you can open the door to a healthier tomorrow. Embrace the transformational power of positive beliefs and consider how they can impact your life. Interested in learning more about breaking free from self-sabotage? Start by reflecting on your own beliefs and how they affect you!
